Los Alamos Local Business (Lalbc) coalition is organizing a series of forums to improve the local business environment. All interested community members are invited. The first forum will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 5:30 pm at the Sala Events Center. There will be an opportunity to participate through Zoom for those who cannot join in person.

This forum series has been created to bring together key players from the local business ecosystem to better understand the challenges of local businesses and to explore solutions to strengthen economic growth in Los Alamos.

For the first forum, representatives from Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC/Room/Mainstreet), Los Alamos County Department of Community Development and Small UNM-LA (SBDC) Center have been invited to give a 5-8 minutes of overview of the role of their organization in supporting local businesses, the challenges they see and how they go for their work. Public commentary and Q&A will follow to encourage discussion and engagement.

The coalition has also invited the interconnections of the recently designated district councilor working on business -related issues to participate and participate. This forum aims to provide a valuable overview of the current state of the local business environment and opportunities for cooperation.

We would also like to display one or more local businesses on each forum. If you are a local business you would like to appear, please email the management team to coalition@losalamos.com – we are looking for short presentations (5 minutes or less) addressing one or more of the following:

  • Wold what would help your business grow?
  • A success story you want to share.
  • The challenges or barriers you are facing.

We look forward to your participation and work together to support and strengthen the business community in Los Alamos.

Los Alamos Local Business Coalition is a collaborative organization of local business owners and community members dedicated to promoting a flowering business environment in Los Alamos and White Rock. We advocate for policies, structures and accountability focused on solutions that support our local businesses, working in cooperation with key organizations and including community contribution to address common advantages to improve the entire Los Alamos area!

Our membership criteria are a common interest in our purpose and a willingness to obtain communications and respond to surveys when required. All local businesses and individual citizens interested in improving the local business environment in Los Alamos and White Rock are invited to join our Google Group using the registration link to our website-you can get rid of any time . You will receive random email communication from the coalition to keep you in the loop and you will be invited to express your thoughts on future issues affecting the local business environment. There is no cost or tariffs related to the union of the group.

The coalition is a small, basic group that began to meet in November 2024 to discuss how we could improve the local business environment. Members of the small initial group agreed to become part of a steering team that meets regularly and is working on how to make a difference. The leading team includes Leslie Linke, Kevin Holsapple, James Wernicke, Carolyn Cowan, Allan Saez, John Courtright, Shannon Cdeboca and Anna Dillane. There is no person with a head. We are a group of people who take care of Los Alamos & White Rock and want to work towards a positive future for our community.
