To beat the scalpers, Zotac is selling RTX 5000 GPU directly to the user through the discord

To protect the seller, Zotac will distribute the Nvidia Geforce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards by identifying loyal and active users on his discord server, an online conversation room that anyone can join.

The “Priority Access Campaign” begins today and will run for the coming weeks, with the aim of giving GPU buyers a chance to buy the shares of RTX 5000 units.

“As you may know, the fall of 50 series happened, as we all expected: dominated by scalpers and bots,” wrote one employee named “Bryant” in the announcement, which was posted on the company Discord server .

Indeed, RTX 5080 and 5090 Nvidia models have immediately sold to BEST Buy, Newgg and other retailers since the beginning just over a week ago. Supplies have also been extremely low, which has led scalpers to sell GPUs for sometimes 3X normal price.

In response, Zotac sees an opportunity to filter sellers and their automated bots by providing GPU to loyal users of his Discord server. “We want to reward real players and active members by giving you the opportunity to provide a slot to buy a god Georce RTX 5080 or 5090 – without bots, without scalps, only my other players,” the announcement says.

Zotac is showing that it plans to invite users based on their internet engagement, including contributing to discussions and completing unknown “challenges”.

“The messages with low spam efforts will not count,” says Godac. “Anydo fraud, manipulation or toxic behavior will result in disqualification.”

In a subsequent post, the company indicated that it will also use a random number generator to help choose users receiving invitations to buy GPUs.

To root the potential abuse, Mr. Zotac is threatening to do anyone who has caught scale their GPU if they are elected through the Priority Access campaign. “All serial numbers are recorded to follow and verify purchases; we will publicly expose you if you are caught,” the announcement says.

Bryant has since started two channels on the Discord server aimed at distributing a pair of RTX 5080 models to customers. One of the canals is already holding a rifle, which ends today. Interested customers can click on the rifle to access. Apparently, God will then direct every rifle winner by checking their engagement activity before opening sales.

The program was warmly received by users on the Discord server. “Thank you Lord for at least tried to get current human customers who intend to use the product directly, a chance,” wrote one consumer.

But in some bad news, God is signaling that there is a low inventory of graphics cards. “There are 5x 5080 AMP Infinity Extreme and 5x 5080 Solid OC,” Bryant wrote about this current round. “Currently no 5090 in stock.”

Others such as NewEgg and Nvidia have also used a rifle system or a direct sales program to bypass scalpers, so it is possible that companies will revive them again as the request for RTX 5000 remains extremely high.
